Ace have now cleared Naxxramas 25 man and all that participated also earnt themselves the title "Conquerer of Naxxramas" as Ace was the first guild on the server to do so. We want to thank everyone in Ace for not only stepping up and getting the work done but doing it with such skill and speed we saw last night. You all are truly worth both your titles and the loot. A job well done guys!!!

Naxx 10 man Cleared 19/11/08

Naxxramas was for many of us well known and for others a completely new experience. We are happy to have cleared it without much effort and we are now looking forward to taking the step into Naxx 25 man.

Pre-WotLK

I am now writing this just before the release of WoTLK. Ace as a Horde guild on Vek'Nilash has gone from the very bottom of the progress list to the top on the server. We started out just doing 10man and the dream became to clear Black Temple. We rapidly cleared SSC and TK including Vashj and Kael without farming gear from BT/MH first. It was around this time we started making a name for ourselves on the server as people noticed that we had progressed so rapidly and did not take what might have been an easy option with Kael'Thas.

After SSC/TK were cleared we moved into Black Temple to get some early easy kills under our belt. Around the same time as this we cleared Mount Hyjal. The only boss that took us some time was Archimonde. As with any fast progressing guild there were people that we had to carry during these stages and Archimonde clearly showed who many of those were. Surely and quickly enough Ace cleared The Battle of Mount Hyjal.

The next chapter to this story was the release of Sunwell. It happened just before the summer and Ace decided to continue raiding without the famous summer break. During this time we still had the second half of Black Temple to clear and we did so with great ease. It took great effort and dedication from numerous members to gather the materials the guild needed for shadow resist gear. We showed up at Mother Shahraz and 1 shot her. Due to this it wasn't our most enjoyable kill but it did show us what we were capable of. After this Illidari Council soon fell as did the Mighty Illidan. At this time there were many guilds all at the same stage of progress and whilst we enjoyed the competition we were mostly just focused on what we were doing and nobody else. We were still a relatively new guild that needed nurturing and building.

After Illidan was dead we killed him again on the next reset. Illidan was officially on farm mode and it wasn't long until I was fortunate to obtain a Warglaive and then to my amazement the kill after the off-hand dropped the main hand followed. Thank you everybody that really wanted me to have them. I really did appreciate it and I smiled for many days.

After only our second Illidan kill we went to The Sunwell. As the guild was created to clear Black Temple and numerous people had put in so much effort to clearing the content so quickly energy was quite low. We had nobody that had ever stepped into sunwell before and after seeing as well as learning the trash to Kalecgos we were scared that we would be spending our hours of raiding on...trash. This did not last long though. Within just a couple of weeks we "saved" Kalecgos. Myself and many others really enjoyed the fight and it gave us the needed boost to progress further. We discovered that just around the corner was Brutallus and Felmyst. Whilst it took us some time to kill Brutallus (mostly due to having to gear up people from t4 and in some cases greens) we still killed him at a relatively early stage. It was probably the most enjoyable kill we have had as a guild as we worked damn hard to achieve it. Felmyst fell and the Twins toppled, both of which again happened extremely quickly.

At this point Ace was now one of the top guilds on the server and M'uru awaited us. This would prove to be a learning experience for all of us as it was actually a hard fight. We also learnt that we did not really have the depth of members in the guild that we needed. During this time we were recruiting heavily for WoTLK so it gave us a good chance to test out how quickly people could adapt and I believe that now we are much better prepared than we have ever been before. Just as we were getting close to killing M'uru/Entropious we ran out of time and the dreaded 3.0.3 was released. M'uru/Entroptious died on the very next try, without very much effort. With only one boss left we just wanted to have the content cleared. Kil'Jaeden was defeated within one day of trying. We don't want to dwell on or over glorify nerfed boss kills but it does give everyone in the guild a really strong incentive to make sure it doesn't happen again. In WoTLK we want to kill all bosses pre-nerf. We are the best prepared we have ever been and are looking forward to WoTLK.

Ace will continue to raid 25mans just four days a week in WoTLK but when we do, we expect it to be of top quality. While waiting for the expansion to arrive the guild has also completed "For The Horde" and obtained ourselves nice and shiny Black Warbears. We will continue to focus on ourselves as a guild and do the best we possibly can. If you want to check out Ace's TBC history please follow this link TBC Kills.

See you in Naxxramas and again at Arthas - Hippopotamus & Ace
